 Here's the Right Way to Maintain a Clean Dog Cage

 “For dogs, kennels are a place for them to play, rest and more.  Therefore, in order for the dog's cage to remain comfortable, you need to maintain good hygiene.  How to clean it can't be careless, you need to clean it properly so that the germs in the cage disappear and don't cause disease."

 Dog kennels are various shelters for your pet dog.  Some kennels are large open spaces created for dogs to exercise and defecate, so these areas need to be cleaned daily to remove urine and feces.

 Some cages are much smaller, such as crates, which are usually used indoors to provide a safe place for the dog, a place to rest, or may be used to train the dog to use the toilet.

 If you use a large kennel for your dog to defecate in the yard, you will need to clean it every day or the dog will step on its own feces and make a mess of the house worse.  Also, when you want to provide a sanitary home for your dog, keep in mind that feces can spread bacteria and parasites.

 Tips for Keeping Dog Cages Clean

 Cleaning a cage, whether it's small or large, there are a few practical steps you can follow to make sure the cleaning is done properly.  Not only about dirt, you also have to make sure that the cage is clean of fur, so that the cage can be enjoyed comfortably.

 Here's how to clean the cage:

 Step 1: Wash Accessories

 Take the dog out of the crate and place them in another kennel or outdoor area, or keep him indoors while you clean the crate.  Clean food and water bowls, toys, and bedding.  Use clean water and dry immediately.  You can clean bed linen using a washing machine.

 Step 2: Dispose of Waste

 Use a shovel to remove all solid waste including hair and dirt.  Wet the cage with water and clean it.

 Step 3: Disinfection

 Dilute bleach containing sodium hypochlorite with water in a ratio of 1:32 or use another disinfectant according to the instructions for use.  Spray the cleaning solution over the entire surface of the cage and leave for 30 minutes, or as instructed on the product label.

 Step 4: Scrub

 A large brush with stiff bristles can be used and scrub the wall area if it gets dirty, and brush all areas.

 Step 5: Rinse

 Rinse thoroughly with hosed water and use warm water if possible and then allow the cage to dry.  Replace clean bowls, bedding, and toys.

 Things that need attention and consideration

 There are several things that you need to understand when cleaning a pet cage, namely:

 Do not use ammonia cleaner in the crate as it smells similar to urine and can cause your dog to urinate in the crate.

 Make sure the disinfectant solution is thoroughly rinsed off as it can damage the material in the cage if there is any residue.  If residue sticks to a dog's paw, it can make them sore when they lick their paw.

 Be sure to disinfect everything in the cage as bacteria and mold can grow on dirty items.  Disinfect the cage walls and floors, especially if the crate is used by multiple dogs, to prevent the spread of viruses and bacteria that can cause disease.
